West Side Youth Guides

West Side Youth Guides (WSYG) is a youth leadership and mentorship program for West Side youth in grades 6th -9th . The purpose of WSYG is to foster youth leadership and mentorship skills through organizing and engaging with the community. Throughout the school year, WSYG meets twice a month, on the first and third Tuesdays, at Baker Community Center to work on projects that will help them develop their skills. During the summer, Youth Guides participate in All Around the Neighborhood camps by mentoring younger campers and working with adult staff. Youth involved in WSYG will build stronger leadership skills, become connected to the community, and be involved in work that will contribute and change their community.
